Inslee signs tax breaks for Boeing’s 777X

At Seattle’s Museum of Flight, Gov. Jay Inslee is joined by Sen. Patty Murray, Boeing’s Raymond Conner and the IAM’s Tom Wroblewski.  Inslee signed a package of legislation in an effort to secure production of Boeing’s 777X jet.  If Boeing keeps 777X production in the state, the package approved by the legislature extends tax incentives to 2040, expands a sales-and-use tax exemption for construction of buildings used to manufacture airplanes and increases funding for aerospace training.  Boeing says its decision still hinges on the Machinists accepting a new eight-year contract with changes to pension and health care benefits.
